Ebraheem Al Mahmood, 1st Vice Chairman, Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ADCCI, has said that UAE-Korea Business Forum reflect the shared desire of the both countries to discuss comprehensively the methods of increasing investment between the UAE and South Korea and two open new horizons and venues of cooperation between the two countries.
In his opening remarks at the Korea UAE-Korea Business Forum in Abu Dhabi, he said that Korea is one the most important commercial and trading partner for the UAE in general and particularly for Abu Dhabi emirate, and this delegation visit is very important because it represents large no of institutions of the industry and all sectors of Korea. “I seize this opportunity to invite all companies and industrial Korean companies particularly in the field of electronics, vehicle, petrochemical to have strategic partnerships with Abu Dhabi emirate, and to play an important role in the investment and the development of the economy which is part of Abu Dhabi 2030 vision.”
He said that South Korea is among our partners in the UAE and Abu Dhabi for a long time.”Commercial trade between the two countries have doubled year-on-year, the exchange of trade has increased to AED 17.5 billion by 2013. Also the number of Korean companies in Abu Dhabi increased to 86 which are operating in different field and sectors. Also the relationship between the two countries has witnessed quantum leap in the previous years since our starting of Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation and Korea Electric Power Corporation, which is designing and building and commissioning the nuclear plants in the UAE. This is part of the peaceful programme of nuclear energy in the UAE. The cooperation between the two countries will contribute effectively in infrastructure, industry and commerce in order to serve the development of the UAE. “
He also announced opening up of first representative office of the ADCCI in Korea next month, “in order to increase investment between the two countries and facilitate and support UAE companies that desire to be available in Korean markets and to attract more Korean companies to work and invest in the Abu Dhabi emirate and to contribute to the sustainable development of the UAE. ADCCI will support the and facilitate the Korean companies desiring to invest in Abu Dhabi.”
Addressing the forum, Yongmaan Park, Chairman, KCCI said, that this forum will contribute to more economic investments, “Korea and UAE have shared interests in development in order to increase investments. We want to continue the development and cooperation between the two friendly countries. This visit of the Korean delegation will further develop the ties between the businessmen of the two countries.”
